Meet Dr. Mullen

Cynthia Mullen, M.D.

Dr. Mullen received her Bachelor’s degree in biology at Loyola University, New Orleans and her medical degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She completed her internal medicine training, including her chief residency year, at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu, Hawaii. She then went on to finish her fellowship training in gastroenterology and hepatology at the Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. She is board certified in both Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine.

Though new to the Montgomery County medical community, she is already a member of the Montgomery County Medical Society womens’ committee and young physicians’ committee. On the national level, she is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology Women In GI Committee.

Dr. Mullen specializes in all areas of Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases. This includes all aspects of basic gastrointestinal health and nutrition, GI Cancer Screening and Prevention, reflux (GERD,) Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Liver Disease, Biliary Disease and Pancreatic diseases.

In addition to her skills in endoscopy such as upper endoscopy, colonoscopy and capsule endoscopy, she offers in-office Hemorrhoidal Banding.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking, exercising, and traveling.
